The PEI Trucking Sector Council is now seeking submissions for it's PEI Trucking Industry Employee of the Month. We want to recognize the professional men and women of our industry, and show them how much we care. Without these people, our wheels wouldn't be turning.

We hope to profile one employee from our industry each month as a way to say thanks! We want our professionals to receive a little gratitude and recognition for all the fine work they do. But we can't do this without the support of our industry employers. We need you to nominate your finest!

We will be reviewing all submissions as they are received. Keep in mind that employers can submit more than one nomination. Nominations will be reviewed and graded based on details provided in submission. We realize that some employees may work seasonally so we hope to have them profiled while they are still on the job, so please include that information on the submission form.

The Trucking Industry Employee of the Week will have the industry spotlight shine on them for an entire month. We will create an online profile of each employee (we may ask for picutres) and add them to our industry wall of fame. We will then promte each employee through social media for the entire month. You know how great your employees are, let's make sure they get the recognition they deserve!

Previous Employee of the Week

Dave Harris (Safety and Compliance)

When it comes to having passion for this industry, you'll look hard to find anyone with more than Dave Harris.  He loves the trucking industry and works hard to improve it.

Dave about as much experience in this industry as anyone could.  He has over 46 years of driving experience, operating here in Canada, the UK and the US.  He’s operated all types of equipment over the years spending a good part of his career hauling B-trains.

After working so many years as a driver, Dave decided it was time to come off the road.  He didn’t want to leave the industry however, so he stated his own business, working in safety and compliance.  This new career has kept him busy working with several companies and individuals over the years.  This includes; safety management, training and development, road testing, safety audits, insurance, job placement, HR, etc., etc.

Today, Dave can be found working in Safety and Compliance under contract with Morley Annear Ltd, and Campbell Amusements, among other smaller contracts.  On top of this he is also a sales rep for Rupture Seal, and VerX Direct.  Needless to say, Dave is a busy guy who likes to stay connected in this industry.

Dave is well known for going above and beyond in this industry, and as his nominations suggested, he truly cares about the PEI trucking industry and those that work within it. We couldn’t agree more.

A big congrats to Dave on being recognized as this week’s Employee of the Week!
